5:30 – 6:20 – Performance (10+)

6:30 – 7:20 – High School Drama (Grade 7+)

Tuesday

Scriptwriting 8+ (3:30 - 4:20)

Script writing 8+ will learn the basics of setting up a script for stage. These include Storyboarding, Formatting, Structure,  Elements of a story (Plot, character, setting, theme), Drafting, Dialogue and subtext. Students will learn the importance of each part of  the writing process, it will also be an opportunity for students to hear their works being read aloud and an opening for input and ideas from other creatives. This class is suitable for all ages above 8, things including interests, reading, writing and comprehension levels and experience will all be taken into consideration when planning these classes. This is a wonderful way to create and explore our own stories and ideas in a safe and fun environment.

FilmMaking 8+ (4:30-5:50)

A filmMaking guide for ages 8+ These classes will introduce students to the fundamentals of filmmaking. They will learn: Storyboarding, Camera angles and techniques, Sound, Lighting, Mise en scene, editing, roles within filmMaking and much more. FilmMaking is a fantastic way of exploring our creative sides with a bit of a technical spark, it encourages creativity while also requiring logical thinking. This class is an opportunity for students to explore a variety of aspects of filmmaking to see what excites them the most.

What to Bring: Water bottle, notebook (They may leave this at the space), A Device for filming and editing (optional) We will provide pencils, etc but they may bring their own if they wish. We will have spare devices to use including cameras and ipads.

Movement 8+ (6:00 - 7:20)

This class is for Movement aspects of performance. This includes physical theatre, mime and musical theatre. Students will learn about mover bodies in interesting ways to music, speech or even silence to create stories and performances.  This class will focus on  the basics of musical theatre, the connection between movement, theatre and sound; and create ensemble pieces using dance and lifts. This is a great introduction to musical theatre, working as a team and connecting with one’s own body.

Thursday

General Drama Ages 5-9 (3:30 - 4:20)

General drama classes for children aged 5-9 introduce young participants to the world of acting and performance in an engaging, supportive, and age-appropriate manner. At this developmental stage, the focus is on nurturing creativity, imagination, self-expression, and basic theatrical skills through playful and educational activities. These classes will teach students about Improvisation, storytelling, voice, character, movement, working as a team and performing.

Improviation 10+ (4:30-5:20)

Improvisation classes for ages 10+ can be an exciting and dynamic way to introduce children to the world of acting and creative expression. These classes will focus on creativity and storytelling focusing on on-the-spot thinking. While also introducing the basics of acting (Voice, Character and Movement).

Performance 10+ (5:30-6:20)

Performance drama class for 10+ is designed to extend children within the world of performance through theatre. These classes centre on developing a range of performance skills, fostering creativity, and building confidence. This class will include Voice, Movement, Character, Improvisation, storytelling and scripted works. This class has a specific focus on performing for an audience at the end of Term 2 and the end of term 4. 
Intake for this class is weeks 1-3 of Term 1 then Term 3.  Students in this class must commit to the planned performances

High School Drama Year 7+ (5:30-6:20)

Drama classes for high school students cultivate creativity, improve communication skills, and build confidence. These classes will explore Voice, Movement, Character, Scripts, theatre terminology  and Improvisation. There will be units on different forms of theatre including mask work, physical theatre, Verbatim theatre, and more. Students will have the opportunity to create their own characters and pieces while also learning how to adapt a character in relation to a script
