Emily Cassar

Performing for 11 years, Emily has experience with a plethora of different styles of theatre. She has studied at the Academy of Film Theatre and Television and the Australian Film Television and Radio School, gaining experience in acting and directing for the stage and screen. Emily holds a particular fondness for classical playwrights such as Shakespeare and Wilde and thus has a passion for developing an understanding of language text.

She has trained in the methods practitioners such as Morris, Meisner, Stanislavski, Lecoq and Feldenkrais and is a strong believer that one method may not always be the best way to go, she believes that as a performer you should always be adding new tricks to your tool belt and that there is always so much to learn!

She is enthusiastic, bubbly, loves a good groove and can’t wait to get in the classroom and create. Emily hopes to bring a sense of awe and excitement to every class and aims to inspire creativity and comradery amongst her pupils.

Other than your experience, what can you offer the Academy?

I have an amazing amount of enthusiasm and an energetic and encouraging personality. I know that every performer has a different method of finding what works for them and I thoroughly enjoy helping others find their style!

If I am to change a students experience, how will you do this?

Good communication is something I’m really big on, understanding where students are at and what their needs are and finding ways in which I can assist them! whether that be trying a different style of teaching, suggesting different techniques for them or if they just need a friendly chat and someone to listen.
