Amelie is an engaging teacher who explores her love of musical theatre, drama and dance through education at Thirroul Academy of Music Dance and Drama. She has exceptional experience in teaching younger students, with a past of babysitting jobs, a position teaching tap dancing at a local academy in Thirroul and choreographing musicals at her high school. Amelie loves to share her knowledge and experience in performance with young students, nurturing their love for theatre as she has done for herself from a young age.
Amelie has successfully presented and performed in five Bulli High School productions, acting in ‘Grease’ and ‘The Wiz’, and eventually choreographing and directing ‘Anything Goes’, ‘Guys and Dolls’ and ‘The Addams Family Musical’. In the process of these productions, Amelie coordinated and directed backstage organisations, preparing both cast and crew for the final performance. In 2019, Amelie successfully organised a preview performance of ‘The Addams Family Musical’ at the Thirroul Seaside Arts Festival, boosting their audience for the show later in the year. She has experience in stage managing for Bulli High’s Twilight Zone performances, undertaking backstage preparations, management of crew and understanding and overcoming technical issues.
Amelie has been dancing all her life, learning ballet in her childhood and continuing with contemporary, jazz, musical theatre and tap. Tap is Amelie’s favourite style of dance, studying it for over 12 years, and continuing her studies of the Glenn Wood Tap Syllabus with The Dance Affinity. She loves to share her own knowledge and experience of dance as well as drama with younger students, appreciating their flourishing abilities and improving their overall performance abilities.
