Brett started his musical journey attending and completing his secondary schooling at The Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School. By the time he was 18, Brett had begun to freelance with major orchestras such as Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, State Orchestra of Victoria and other ensembles. He graduated from Victorian College of the Arts with a performance degree and later completed his teaching degree at Monash University. Since then, Brett went on to perform in many genres as a soloist and ensemble player and has held teaching and leadership roles within the Victorian and NSW Department of Educations.
After leaving teaching in the late 90s, he went on to start a design and project company and later held a variety of management and business development roles. In the last six years, Brett returned to his primary passion for teaching and mentoring young people and to complete his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the AGSM in 2019. Currently, he is completing a Master of Laws in Media, IP and Technology at UNSW. His desire for combining education and training with business led him to start MBL Creative to then purchase ‘The Academy’. His vision is to build the organisation to provide exceptional value for everyone from students, families and teachers.
